The Arts Council of Greater Palatka is pleased to invite you to sign up for a very fun and interesting painting class for the month of February with artist Terry Luke. Terry
Luke will be teaching a watercolor class in February at the Larimer
Arts Center located at 216 Reid St., Palatka. The title will be
"Flowers and Lace". Said Executive Director Denise Aiken. Set
up for your still life. You may bring real flowers or set up a
still life with artificial, realistic looking flowers and lace.
Choose a simple vase. Roses are very difficult to paint so I
recommend a simpler flower. We will do a study of the
flowers and vase shapes before we begin the painting. Once
you are satisfied with your drawing, we will transfer it to at least
140 lb paper (300lb is better). Using plastic lace with masking
techniques we will lay out our lace and begin the background.
Colors will depend on the color of your flowers for contrast.
This will be a fun project for beginners and experienced
painters. If you finish this and have time for another
painting, Painting 2 will be using textures, watercolor and
mixed medium to create a painting with tactile relief.
Painting 2 can be flowers and lace or a picture with rocks. You
will need tissue paper and an acid free glue (like Yes
Glue) and a picture of what you want to paint. The classes will be held February 6, 13, 20, 27 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Class fee is $40.00 for the month which includes all the dates above. Email Terry at creativeartists02@gmail.com or call 386-336-7440 for a materials list and to sign up. Class is limited to 10 For more info on classes, please call 386-328-8998 |
