Second Annual Ladies Tea

Ladies Tea at the Larimer

The Arts Council of Greater Palatka is pleased to say that the second annual “Ladies Tea” was a wonderful event with many generations of women in attendance.

The morning started off with the final touches being added to the tables, which were decorated with a wide variety of beautiful china and adorned with small vases of flowers that were actually writing pens for our guests to take home with them.

The ladies set the buffet table with a wonderful display of scrumptious savories and sweets.

Our guest started arriving around 11:00 A.M. and the Historic Larimer Arts Center started filling up with ladies in their lovely dresses and hats.  Mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters and friends were seated throughout the lobby and two galleries.  Soon the building became full of sounds of our guests visiting with each other.  Tea was served and guests served themselves to finger foods.

Our guests were entertained by the delightful music of Matthew Frederick on piano and Patrick Smith on violin. We would like to thank both of them for adding a very special touch to our tea.

We raffled off a beautiful tea set which Rebecca Constantineau won. Mandi Wilkerson was the winner of the handmade garden doll. We left a small booklet on each table for comments or quotes from our guests. Here are just a few of the many wonderful comments given.

  • Sally Jacob: It’s always a lovely day when you can spend time with friends!
  • Ashlyn N. Elkins said: I think this is really nice and I'm having the time of my life.
  • Allison Pfei: I love the music.
  • Denise Sauerwald: A very enjoyable tea with my darling niece. Hope you keep the tradition
  • Emma Townsend: I had a great time today with my mom. I love the pens, it’s a cute idea.
  • Regina Wiles: Please continue to provide this elegant opportunity for women to enjoy a timeless past time.
  • Holly English: Traditions are simple repeats that make your heart glad and memories forever.
  • Gail Branham with the Satsuma Sassies Red Hatters said: What a lovely day to share with all my friends. Thank you for having this tea.
  • Nelly Perallon: I enjoyed the music very much and the tea time, it was very nice!

We would like to thank all of those who worked hard preparing for the tea and donated their time to make this tea a success.  All of you helped to create wonderful memories for the ladies who attended.
