Classes Are Every Monday at 10-12:30
Luke Taft’s next painting class shifts from his normal
portraiture venue into a dream-like world of the surreal. Come and join the
journey into the depth of your imagination as you learn to paint a less than
real world from your mind. The curriculum will consist of instruction in
combining realistic elements with fantasy, composition, and oil painting
techniques. Although technique will be taught in terms of oil painting, acrylic
painters are welcome to participate in this class.
This class will be open to beginner and experienced oil
painters. It is preferred if you are going to use acrylics that
you be experienced in that medium.
Below are photographs of some Luke's students' works in progress.
Luke is a painter/sculptor/craftsman in
Palatka, Florida.
His work includes contemporary furniture, kinetic sculpture, and surreal
drawings and oil paintings with a focus on portraiture and the human form.
Raised in the fertile back woods of Putnam
County, Luke's
appreciation for undisturbed natural beauty has driven his urge to interact
with human materials in a way that preserves a high aesthetic standard. After
receiving a degree in Fine Art from the University
of New Mexico, Luke has returned to Florida to practice his
craft and now teaches portraiture.
